‘Snap out of it! You barely know this man and now that’s all you can think about. Girl you need to relax, you don’t really need a man anyway, he will distract you from your work. Remember what happened with…’

She shook her head trying not to take her mind back to those memories. She checked the time and it was already lunch time so she decided to head out for some good food. She grabbed her bag and just as she was about to get up, there was a knock on the door.

‘Oh gosh, at lunch time. Seriously,’ she whispered to herself.

‘Come in,’ she said placing her bag on the floor.

The door opened and she could not believe what she was seeing. This man was standing right in front of her, in her office. Her jaw dropped and she failed to pick it up, literally.

‘Uuuhhhmm, hi, how can I help you?’ she managed to say, finally.

‘Lunch with you would be awesome, I hope you like chicken,’ he said as he shut the door behind him.

‘Oh, I was going to have chicken. Do you read minds, by any chance?’

‘Only if I help the person pick up their files.’

Her heart was pounding. She wasn’t sure if seeing him eat so early in the non existent relationship was a good idea because if he couldn’t chew that would be a deal breaker. A part of her wanted to fake an emergency, obviously that was a dumb idea. So, she relaxed instead.

Before she knew it the conversation was flowing. She was laughing louder than usual. The food was amazing and he looked hotter with every minute. It was absolutely perfect. She looked deep into his eyes and she felt things.

As if he could read her hormones he got up and went round to her side, stretched his hand out towards her.

‘Can I have this dance?’

She giggled. ‘To what music?’

‘The rhythm of our heartbeats,’ he replied.

This man was just perfect. She didn’t want this moment to end, her body so close to his. She felt every movement of his hands on her back. Her knees felt like they were giving in, he was making her weak. Just as he leaned in to kiss her, her phone rang.

Back to reality she was, in her office, just her and her furniture. Her imagination took her on a trip she should have never been on in the first place.

‘Rema’s phone, how can I help you?’

Tag you are it! You can take it from here… CIAO!
