Why You Need To Show Your God Gratitude

What are you grateful for today? I probably sound like a broken record to most of my regular readers because I have been saying GET A GRATITUDE JOURNAL! I hope you heard me today and feel extremely pressured to purchase a gratitude journal. However today I want to talk about being grateful to your God, ancestors, spirit guides and the universe. I have told you the power that comes with just being grateful in life, but the power that lives behind gratitude to a higher power has left me amazed. So lets jump right into it.

I am still trying to figure out where I stand with God because my transition from Christianity to spirituality left me scarred. The God I was told to worship is very cruel, the bible, the book that is meant to teach me about who he is, also depicts him as an evil God. So I have set that aside for now and I am learning to speak to my spirit guides and my ancestors. It has been quite an interesting journey of learning more about my culture and the things that Christianity has managed to wash away. Our culture was/is very rich but that is a story for another day.

As I am learning to speak to my ancestors and my spirit guides on of the practices that are clearly important are gratitude. You need to be grateful before and after they have answered your prayers. You find that if you are consulting a mediator, you are asked to pay money, bring the alcohol you like and traditional alcohol as well. All this to show your gratitude and to appease them. When you show gratitude you open the doorway to your protection and answered prayers. You unlock good energy the same way the general gratitude practice unlocks positive energy.

I do not speak from imagination but from experience. There was a day I woke up and everything seemed to be on hold, it felt like my prayers were bouncing back. I did not know what to do, it was as though my spirit guides had turned their back on me. Anxiety crippled me and I couldn’t free myself from the funk, I could not even cry guys. It was that bad. I spent my day preparing food, it is an exercise that helps me get past heavy energy, it helped but then I realized I had not practised gratitude that week.

The following morning my prayer had zero requests, just gratitude. I closed it off with affirmations and I felt lighter and at peace. If I tell you that hours later my prayers were answered and I laughed out loud. I had forgotten what the major key is. On a daily, we are protected, guided and provided for and we have one job, just say thank you. It does not matter who or what you believe in, whoever is answering your prayers deserves a thank you. I have handed you the key, now it is up to you to use it or not. CIAO!
