Girl look at him. I mean really look at him. Don’t be afraid, I’ve been there too. You know that man is a good man, that’s why you’re friends. You worry that his compliments are because he’s biased. After all, he’s your friend. I’m here to tell you it’s real. He takes great pictures of you because that’s how he sees you. You’ve thought about it, haven’t you? Being more than friends. It scares you; I get that. But you dated those 3 fools in a row so it really cannot get any worse for you.
Remember when everybody forgot your birthday, including Fuckface but he didn’t. I’m just saying there’s something there and you know it. You’ve been looking for love everywhere but the one place that you should’ve, right next to you! It’s not easy but nothing worth doing ever is. He pays attention because he wants to, not cause he has to. You say you want a gentleman, well honey look at that gentleman. If it’s love you’re looking for, don’t look any further.
And you my brother. You know she holds on to those hugs a little bit tighter and a little bit longer each time. You know why! Remember at the party when everyone laughed and her eyes looked straight at you? The reason you saw her is cause you were looking at her too.
I know what you’re thinking she’s tried to match-make you with her friends. She wants you to be happy. You should hear what she says to them about you though. Your scent, the way you dress, the way you’re smart but not cocky, basically the perfect man. You know, like the one she’s looking for but hasn’t found yet.
So, quit playing with her and while you’re at it quit playing yourself. When you mentioned it in passing, she laughed, it was a nervous laugh. A “I can’t believe this man just went said the same thing I was thinking and I don’t know what to do so let me laugh” kinda laugh. Please, don’t look any further.
Now I’m speaking to both of you, please listen. You’re not unlucky in love, you’ve just been ignoring it. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. So, step out and into the truth.
